Leading British lifestyle brand Mulberry chooses Spode as the perfect accompaniment to its Spring/Summer 2018 collection

There’s nothing that captures the essence of Englishness more than blue and white china.

So when leading British lifestyle brand, Mulberry was looking to collaborate with a Great British heritage brand to serve its VIP guests at the launch of its Spring Summer ’18 collection during London Fashion Week – and to style its windows and store displays for the whole season – Spode was the natural choice.

With a respect for craftsmanship and a passion for heritage, Mulberry and Spode stand hand in hand. Watch the video to see Blue Italian being made at Spode’s factory in Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of The Potteries, England.

Spode’s Blue Italian was launched by Josiah Spode in 1816 and has been in production ever since. The elegant and timeless blue and white tableware has adorned the tables and homes of many across the globe for over 200 years and has been passed down through generations.

The Event

Blue Italian was used to serve Hepple gin cocktails and refreshments at Mulberry’s VIP launch show during London Fashion Week on 16th February 2018.

Spode held a workshop at Mulberry’s launch weekend, 17-18th February. Guests had the unique opportunity to see how Blue Italian was made 200 years ago and also try their hand at decorating (lithographing).
