Festive Tablescaping - Blue Italian
With Grandmillennial style being one of our key trends for AW20, creating a tablescape that celebrates both classic design and the most wonderful time of the year seems absolutely necessary. And our Blue Italian collection is the perfect crockery to bring some festive style to the table with just a little bit of effort.
The timeless Blue Italian is a design favourite. With its cobalt blue hues and 200 year-old pattern, it’s the epitome of style. The ultimate blue and white collection. And one that can be used all year round – trust us.
All About the Blue
As we’ve said before , the colour blue is an interior classic. And the love we all have for it doesn’t seem to be disappearing, with trend forecasters WGSN setting Atlantic Blue as one of the five key colours for 2022. Having quite the soft spot for blue here at Spode, this is a trend we’re definitely behind.
You may already have the colour blue somewhere prominent in your home, on walls or on key pieces of furniture. Or maybe you just have splashes within wall art, accessories and ceramics. Although a bold colour, it’s perfect for adding a sense of calm into a room. And brighter blues, such as Spode’s cobalt blue are also great for lifting you up too. What’s not to love?
Blue and White Christmas Twist:
You may be someone who uses their Spode Blue Italian tableware every day, or perhaps you prefer to save it for special occasions. Here at Spode we’re firm believers in making the everyday as special as can be, and for us that means using our favourite blue and white for all occasions, especially Christmas.
Just by adding a few subtle accessories to your blue and white tablescape, you can add a festive twist and create a setting just as memorable as the feast on Christmas day. We’ve opted for hints of gold and green to go alongside our blue and white dining set. The gold slim runner is complemented by gold cutlery and a matching candle holder, adding a classic seasonal touch and a sense of luxury to the look.
We’ve added clear baubles featuring eucalyptus and pinecones to the side of each place setting to bring a freshness to the overall look with, of course, a hint of festiveness too. We think this look sits perfectly against a white backdrop, whether that be a marble tabletop or crisp white linen tablecloth, allowing the cobalt blue of the Blue Italian plates to pop.
