Founded in 1986, the Society brings together collectors and lovers of Spode, to increase knowledge of the Spode/Copeland families, the factory and its wares. Current membership stands at just over 200, mainly in the U.K., but with quite a number from overseas. There are usually four or five events each year, held in different parts of the U.K., including visits to public and private collections of ceramics. The A.G.M. is held, normally in May, alternately in London and Stoke-on-Trent. The Society produces the Review, fully illustrated, twice yearly. The Review contains reports on events, articles by members including their research, letters to the Editor, reports on prices at auctions and fairs.
