Trade Winds was produced on both bone china and Fine Stone. Pattern W128
was introduced in 1960 and printed in Iron Red with a gold edge. In 1970
two more versions were produced: W145 printed in black and W146 printed
in blue. Both these pattern numbers had a gold edge.
The pattern was designed by Denis Emery and adapted from pictures in
the Maritime Museum in Greenwich visited by the designer and Design Director
Harold Holdway in 1958/59.
The pattern was discontinued in 1993 and the Fine Stone body is no longer
produced but a similar style pattern was introduced in 1998 and is known
as Blue Clipper.
