Blanche de Chine was registered with the British Patent Office with registered
number 785542 on 5th August 1933 and was in production until the 1970s.
Several different versions were available. The shape is based on the Chinese
porcelain in which the Prunus sprigs were made separately and stuck on
to the porcelain. The Spode version has the sprigs of blossom in the mould
so they are not so prominent.
