The pattern was produced from the late Spode period and the earliest
known pattern number is 5136 from 1832. Also known as Grecian Scroll in
the 19th Century, it was re-introduced as Beverley pattern 2/8769 in 1929.
That version was printed in Unique (mauve) and coloured underglaze. The
border of the pattern is also known printed in an orange/red combined
with centres of views printed in black and produced on Gadroon shape.
Beverley appears to have been a popular export pattern. Examples bearing
Copeland and Garrett and Copeland marks have been excavated from historic
sites in Canada.
In the late 1990s the pattern was reintroduced as part of The Blue Room
Collection.
