The Prunus Ornamental ware range was introduced in about 1960 and was in production until about 1965. The range was of ornamental wares in white on blue and white on celadon green. The moulded decoration was in the form of Prunus or CherryBlossom.

The style of the ware followed that of Chinese porcelains and the blossom is a symbol of Spring. The colour combination of blue and white was used by Spode in the late 18th century in a stoneware body - the range produced in the 1960s was in fine earthenware. Bowls, vases, ginger jars and other ornamental pieces were made many of which had their shape number impressed in the base. These begin with a K.

The 1965 catalogue lists:

K1241 Bowl

K1242 Acanthus Vase

K1244 Preserve Pot
