The small crucifix was made in about 1982. It is made from bone china and has pattern number F1569 and shape number K1634. It is decorated in blue and gold.

There is little information in the archive about this item other than the details of the design in the pattern book but it is understood that 6500 were made. There is no indication that they were made for a special occasion but may have been commissioned by another company such as a jeweller or a retailer. Details of special commissions are not always recorded by Spode.

The china cross is set in a decorative metal mount.
