Introduced: c1828 and later The name Camilla follows that of the famous pattern but was in use under othe r names much earlier than 1833. It had many names before the present one, such as Opal and Octagon. Dinnerware The hollow ware was known as B.S. or Botanical shape and was used first in 1828 for Botanical pattern. This was re-adopted in about 1969 to replace the plainer Pine shape which had been derived from Chinese shapes. Tea and coffee ware This was originally Hamburg shape with Florence cups and Melon jugs. The various shapes were renamed Camilla to make it much easier for dealers to order and distinguish ware. Camilla Cottage Blue Italian and subsequently some other transfer patterns have been produced on Camilla Cottage shape. This is derived from Cottage shape with Princess shape cups.
