1992 - 1997

Several items of bone china giftware were produced in the handpainted plaques range in the 1990s. The plaques were 24cm X 16cm and were provided boxed.

In 1992 there were the following series:

• Wild Cats : Cheetah and Lion
• Clipper Ships : Aristides and Middlesex (limited edition of 150)
• Stafford Flowers* : Aerides, Burbidgea, (this may be an incorrect name but not yet traced possibly Thunbergia), Cenothera & Serapias, (note incorrect spelling of Oenothera) and Narcissus

In 1994 only the Clipper Ships remained in the catalogue but these had been extended to include 6 ships: Aristides, Carlisle Castle, Cutty Sark, Harbinger, Loch Tay and Middlesex. The plaques were each in a limited edition of 150.

By 1997 no plaques featured in the catalogues.

*Since about 1800 when botanical subjects were first used to decorate Spode's ware the Latin botanical names have caused, and continue to cause, spelling problems!
