| There are several versions of the pattern Chelsea Gardens . Three of the most popular pattern numbers are R9781 introduced in about 1926; R9916 introduced in about 1927 and 2/3001 introduced in about 1888. The two former are bone china patterns whilst the latter is on earthenware.
A catalogue from about 1961 describes the pattern ‘delicately painted flowers of an English Garden are placed with charming freedom on the famous Chelsea shape in bone china.’ The pattern was printed and then hand coloured. The pattern was probably withdrawn in the late1960s early 1970s.
