This pattern with a pale yellow ground is inspired by pattern number 3162, an early Spode of 1821. An example of this may be seen in the Spode Museum . The six different floral sprays, however, combine the skill of Copeland's artist Arthur Perry, with a revised colour scheme on the border. Arthur Perry worked for the Spode manufactory throughout the Edwardian period and up to 1928.
Fitzroy
Designed by Louise Weldon.
This delightful teaware pattern, is a close copy of Spode's pattern 3368, recorded in 1822. In fact, the central floral motif of an old fashioned rose and a wild purple vetch is much better than the similar one painted in the original pattern record book.
Balmoral
In 1998 this pattern was added to the Spode Cabinet Collection. It is a full range of tableware with a crimson border again inspired by pattern 3368. The 'accent' or dessert plate has a rose centre.
A version of pattern 3368 with cobalt blue ground may be seen in the Spode Museum |
